Surge
You
must be vigilant of storm surge reports. Nine out of 10 hurricane fatalities
are directly related to storm surge. Prepare and Survive.
Wind - Hurricanes
are tropical storms with sustained winds greater than 74 mph.
These winds can extend inland for hundreds of miles. Hurricanes
can spawn tornadoes.
Rain – Sometimes the torrential
rain will cause floods and flash flooding.
Storm Surge - A dome of ocean water
that can be 20 feet high at its peak and 50 to 100 miles wide.
